The Dallas Cowboys have unveiled and began testing video on the screens. I have been watching it for the last few days as the run the testing and thought I ought to share the link. The sheer size of it is amazing. Now you can get the quality TV of watching HD from home with the stadium atmosphere, it will just cost you a pretty penny.

Obviously it will be the home to the Dallas Cowboys, but the first game that will mean anything from the stadium will pit BYU against Oklahomaon September 5. The facility will also house the Cotton Bowl and will host games between Texas A&M and Arkansas starting this year. It also will be home to the 2014 Men’s Final 4.

Also I ask does this make Dallas the most likely American host to the summer Olympics if Chicago doesn’t win their bid?

Today there are plenty of news stories in the world of HD sports. We thought it would be good to put down a few excerpts about what is happening.

First and foremost the NBA conference finals begin tonight with the Lakers and Nuggets. ESPN and ABC will have exclusive coverage of the Western Conference Finals, as well as the NBA finals. TNT will begin their coverage of the Eastern Conference Finals with Orlando at Cleveland tomorrow at 8:30 PM.

Today the NFL and Comcast reached a “long term” deal for NFL Network to be carried on their cable systems. NFL Network will be carried on the Digital Classic tier for all comcast subscribers. Their press release is here.

Comcast also had some good news for all college sports fans, although it is a little late for the spring championships. Comcast will begin carrying ESPNU, and espn360 in time for the upcoming college football season.

DirectTV will also begin carrying ESPNU on its choice package in time for next football season details from their press release here.

Also announced yesterday, the MLB and Fox have decided that they will move up start times for the ALCS and World Series a link to that press release is here. This will be great for everyone on the east coast that cannot stay up until two in the morning for every game, but bad for nine to five workers in the west.

Women’s Softball fans will be getting regional maps later this week. They will be posted as soon as we get them.

The INDY 500 will be this Sunday on ABC.

The French Open will also start this Sunday and DirecTV will be offering a French Open Mix channel.

If we left something out let us know in the comments section. This should be one of the best weeks ever for HD sports Viewing

With a new TV deal the NBA is no longer allowing local broadcasts for second round games. Both ESPN and TNT have exclusive deals to carry the conference semifinals with no local competition. This is good for their ratings because they will get all the local fans, but bad for everyone who likes the biased announcing only local play by play men can give you.

The second round match-ups are now set, and all NBA games will be in HD from here on out. Hopefully there will be a series that is half as good as the Bulls Celtics in round 1, but don’t count on it.

The NHL Stanley Cup Conference Semifinals are about to get underway, and the NHL got what it wanted: Ovechkin vs. Crosby. The reseeding of the NHL produced one of the most anticipated team and player match-ups in recent history, much to the chagrin of fans in Boston and Carolina. Three games from that series as well as one game from the Chicago Vancouver series will be joined in progress and not shown in their entirety nationally.

Those games are not exclusive games for Versus, so they can be shown on the local channels. But out of market fans will be out of luck for those four games. So as of right now out of market fans of Boston and Carolina are going to be getting Red Wing and Ovechkin vs. Crosby overkill instead of their teams games. This page will be updated as soon as we get more information. Please leave a comment a source if you know more about the situation.

All games starting in the second round will be broadcast in high definition <del datetime="2009-05-02T01:03:55+00:00">except</del> including games on Fox Sports Carolina. Including at least two on NBC for those of you who still use bunny ears.

There will be local HD coverage of all the games except the NBC games and the list of Versus exclusive games.

**Here is a list of the Vs. Exclusive games. The rest can be broadcast on local channels. As soon as those plans are announced they will be posted here.

**Also here is the second round schedule on center ice.

April 30th – Chicago vs. Vancouver, Game 1, 9:00 PM ET
May 1st – Anaheim vs. Detroit, Game 1, 7:00 PM ET
May 3rd – Carolina vs. Boston, Game 2, 7:30 PM ET
May 4th – Pittsburgh vs. Washington, Game 2, 7:00 PM ET
May 6th – Washington vs. Pittsburgh, Game 3, 7:00 PM ET
May 7th – Vancouver vs. Chicago, Game 4, 8:00 PM ET
