To Steve S: Did it ever occur to you that Phoenix also has many more Nebraska/Va Tech alumni than Tuscon? Does Penn St. have a radio affiiate in Phoenix? Nebraska does. Almost everyone in the state of Nebraska that has retired to AZ cheers for the Huskers as there are not other FCS schools or pro sports teams to follow back home. That certainly in not the case in PA. Also, Nebraska has always recruited Arizona and currently has seven players from that state on their roster. I think ABC did do their homework and the good folks of Arizona are lucky to not have the big 10 shoved down their throats.

I live in St. Augustine and have 20+ friends from PA, all PSU fans. The dividing line on the map is just cutting us off from the game. It just dosn't make any sense televising VT and Nebraska in Jacksonville. Im not playing favorites, we are all hokies....great school. Penn State and VT are almost equally far away, and PSU and Illinois are both ranked schools.

I just see this as a way to push ESPN and their pay to watch diabolical scheme.....

Please explain why the Phoenix area is getting the Va. Tech/Nebraska game primetime rather than Penn State/Illinois game? Tucson is getting Penn State/Illinois which has a much smaller fan base of Illinois and Penn State followers. Apparently ABC doesn't know that the Phoenix area has the 2nd largest number of Penn State Alumni living there in the country. Thank goodness I am able to get the game on ESPN Gameplan but have to fork over $22 for the day to my cable company. Do your homework ABC before you set up your program schedule.

ESPN has had its own Saturday-night games for at least 20 years. That's why Reverse Mirror is not used for Saturday Night Football telecasts on ABC.

Arrrggh - why is it soooo hard to ever get a Va. Tech game in Michigan! Why oh why can ESPN not do reverse mirror at 8pm on Saturday??? All week I was counting on the reverse mirror policy, then I read this article!!! Before we had the baby we'd go to the sports bars for this, but with a 7 month old I'm now relegated to the computer when I can't get the game on expanded basic cable. Call me old fashioned, but I want to watch my team on the TV without having a bazillion dollar cable or satellite package. I mean c'mon, it is the Hokies v the Huskers - two traditional powerhouses with a combined 6-1 record, not Fresno State v Central Florida. Sigh...

Colorado-Florida State is not in HD on ESPN due to satellite capacity. Also the game is being played in Jacksonville.

BTW, ABC games not shown on your local ABC station are available through ESPN GamePlan.

Can someone please explain to me the reasoning for blacking out only the HD feed of these games? I understand blackouts, but when you offer the game on the SD feed, but not the HD feed, it seems to defeat the purpose of said blackout.
