Fox Week 19 Game of the Week

Believe it or not, despite the attention being given to the Olympics, CBS’s devotion to a full HD season, and the upcoming College Football Season, it’s still Baseball season. As a testament to this, Fox (in an email titled “If Favre Really Wants To Play, He’ll Play Anywhere”) has released the regional markets for this week’s 3:30 Game of the Week.

There are only two games this week, and the markets are split nearly in half. Again, all games air at 3:30 PM EST on Saturday August 9th.

The big story for many this week will be that the upcoming Yankees vs Angels game will NOT be broadcast to the majority of the country, despite Fox’s previous affinity for showing Yankees games, no matter the situation.

This has been a pretty hot topic of contention the past few weeks, so, what, is Fox getting it or is this just a fluke?

why do i want to see a cubs game in philly? this will get a terrible rating. the yanks/angels is way better

  2. Scott Says:

Here’s hoping the Cubs game gets rained out. Seriously who wants to watch that game. The Yankees are always going to draw more viewers.

  3. ED Says:

How come Manny Ramierez and the Dodgers aren’t on FOX or any national channel for that matter… I understand the Giants are out of the playoffs but the Dodgers-Giants rivalry is still big out here, these two teams have alaways been on Fox in recent years, why not now, since the Angles-Yankees were on last week!

  4. Chucky Says:

The Phillies lead the NL East and the Cubs lead the NL Central, thus Fox will air the Cubbies in Philly. Fox is not sending Cards-Cubs to South Florida or Palm Beach even though the Marlins are in the playoff chase.

Dodgers-Giants tomorrow is a night game in San Fran. ESPN will air Phillies-Dodgers on Monday night.

  5. John Says:

friggin 3 weeks in a row the Yanks have been on fox and ALL 3 weeks I have been blue balled. this is so stupid. I dont agree with the braves being played over the Yanks in Jacksonville FL but I can understand b/c of location but the cubs and cards? looks like I will be listening on XM or driving to Palm Coast to watch. Cant Fox use FX so both games can be shown???

  6. Charlie Myers Says:

How come Joe Buck isn’t calling a game? Is he already gearing up for the NFL?
