Fox Saturday Baseball: Yanks and Red Sox
The Saturday MLB on FOX game of the week for April 12, 2008 will feature the New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox for 95% of the country. Only the Denver and Phoenix markets will see the Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, in this “regional” broadcast.
This is the first of five currently scheduled national broadcasts involving the Yankees and Red Sox. By the end of the season, that number is sure to grow as ESPN, ESPN2 and TBS will likely add more national games as the rest of their season schedules are released. In addition, the September 27th matchup could be selected by Fox as one of their wildcard selections.

I’m surprised TBS did not get one

The TBS baseball schedule is currently only announced through the end of May. Tomorrow’s Red Sox-Yankees game is on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
Of the remaining Sunday night games between Boston and New York, on July 6, July 27 and Sept. 28, I would be surprised if all of them are not available nationally on either TBS or ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

Rockies-D’Backs also aired on Fox in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Tucson and Yuma.
That baseball-NASCAR snafu could have been avoided. Rockies-D’Backs was a rematch of the NLCS at a ballpark with a roof, perfect for a national telecast. Yankees-Red Sox was played outdoors and got interrupted by rain.
