French Open HD Coverage on DirecTV
During the 2008 French Open tennis tournament, May 25 to June 1, DirecTV will offer a free preview of the Tennis Channel to all subscribers and feature an exclusive French Open Interactive Mix Channel during the first eight days of the tournament action at Roland-Garros.
The free preview will be provided to CHOICE package subscribers, as the Tennis Channel (217), is normally only available as part of the regular channel lineup for the CHOICE EXTRA package and above.
Similar to the Masters Tournament Coverage, DirecTV customers will get access to special high definition coverage of the French Open, with more than 100 hours of singles and doubles tennis matches available. The French Open Mix Channel (701) will deliver multiple live matches at the same time, including matches televised on Tennis Channel, ESPN2 and five other courts. In addition, interactive features will be available, like instant updates and listings of upcoming matches.
While some people may not be big fans of DirecTV, they are definitely stepping up to the plate once again by offering customers access to HD coverage in a way no one else does. Below are some screen shots from DirecTV.
