NBA Playoff Games 5 - 7 Up in the Air
For the final games of the NBA Playoffs First Round, the league is still taking it day-by-day in determining which games will be aired at which times on which networks. With at least seven of the eight series reaching their fifth game, they are still holding back on all games after Tuesday night.
Today the schedule was updated for the four Game Fives set for Tuesday night, and we have updated NBA Playoffs Schedule. However, the rest of the first round remains TBD.
Of course, the networks and the league have some tentative scenarios for the rest of the first round games, depending on how things play out. However, the league is staying tight lipped, as it must be too complex for us fans to be able to follow…
To fill in the gaps, below is a day by day schedule for the remainder of the first round, indicating the network windows for each game after Wednesday.
UPDATE 4/29/08 9:30 AM ET: Following Monday night’s games, the NBA First Round Playoff schedule for Wednesday, April 30th has been finalized. With the Lakers win, the NBA TV game has been dropped from the schedule and the remaining games on TNT have been moved to 6:00 PM ET and 8:30 PM ET.

My guess is that on Wednesday they will drop the 8pm NBA TV game if the Lakers win tonight.
For Thursday, the TNT games are also probably going to be the first priority, and on Saturday the ESPN games will probably go, with ESPN2 games getting dropped if there are not enough games.
For Sunday, I don’t know what they would do. Probably ABC gets one, then TNT gets one, then back to ABC. Of course, the league has to prefer two network games on ABC to TNT Sunday night game.
Has anyone done any counts for TNT to figure out what they need to get “40 games in 40 nights”. That may also contain some clues.

After tonight, there may only be one game on Thursday. By this weekend you will probably be seeing a lot of Closer reruns on TNT
