NBC Olympic Basketball & Soccer Channels
Due to the popularity of Olympic Soccer and Basketball, NBC has dedicated two entire channels to covering the numerous live high definition games that these two sports have to offer. The NBC Olympic Basketball Channel will air 47 live games, and the Olympic Soccer Channel will air 16 live matches through August 23rd.
Despite NBC’s dedication to two of the more popular sports of the Olympics, their popularity in the US may not be enough to overcome the vast time differences between Beijing the the US East Coast, as most live events are airing live in the US between 2 AM and 10:15 AM EST. Some of the matches will be re-broadcast on their respective channels, and some games will be taped and aired at a later time, but many games only air once.
These channels have varying availability, determined by cable or satellite carrier. The press release provided by NBC says it is available on ‘most major satellite and cable providers,’ but we are only aware of the HD channels being live on Dish and DirecTV right now. Post below if you are receiving the HD feed through your cable provider.

I’ve got Time Warner in Queens, NY and both the basketball and soccer HD channels are available – but they’re not working. All grey – all the time….

HELP! I have tried for 3 days to figure out when the mens and womens basketball games are being televised and the times are always wrong. Also can’t find this NBC Olympic Channel. Even the local NBC Station doesn’t know about it!
I have Direct TV in Medford Oregon.

@Virginia – For Directv, check 754 and 755 for the HD Basketball and Soccer channels respectively. The live times are in our guide. Not sure if you are referring to the replays, but let us know if you discover any errors in our listings.
@Ken – Can’t help you on those channels, but hopefully JT or someone else from Queens will chime in.

comcast will not be carrying olympic soccer and basketball channels because they are the devil all things they do are evil and they do not care about their customers. i’ve called to ask and they don’t seem to know that these channels exist, it was a sad, but funny conversation but i feel that they really genuinely don’t care about anyone or anything except making money.

Time Warner Cable has it in Cary/Raleigh, NC. However, you may need to have your digital tuner search for channels again. I was only able to find it using clear QAM Avermedia M780 card in my computer using Vista MCE. It is channel 1141. Good luck!

It’s funny how everyone/schedule refers to the “NBC Olympic Basketball Channel” yet never to a channel number and I haven’t found many if anybody that has actually found the freakin channel.

I have Time Warner in Los Angeles. How do I watch the gold medal basketball game tonight…is it 9:30pm Pacific Time….(12:30AM EST) WHAT IS THE CHANNEL? I think it is on Saturday night in California, and midnight on the East Coast. HELP. WHAT NUMBER CHANNEL?
