PGA Championships on TNT and CBS HD
Even though the Olympics are somewhat of a huge deal these days, and professional golf has lost its ‘Franchise Player’ Tiger Woods, and everything besides the Olympics is expecting semi-weak ratings this year, TNT and CBS are pulling out all the stops to broadcast the 90th PGA Championships.
Coverage starts 11 am Thursday August 7th on TNT, where it will stay through the weekend, though splitting coverage with CBS on Saturday and Sunday. A press release from TNT said the network would be providing 18 live, high definition hours of PGA Championship Coverage, plus an additional 118 (not a typo) hours online.
CBS coverage starts Saturday August 8th at 2 PM, after TNT’s Third Round Coverage.
Last but not least, DirecTV is offering an Interactive Mix Package for the PGA Championship.

On Thursday, Ian Baker-Finch commented how long the players are today and said, “that’s rotational vs. down-the-line golf for those of you that know the difference”. I do not know the difference. Could Ian please explain it during the broadcast on Sunday, Aug. 10 when I will be watching all day?
