  1. John Says:

    What does Swing Coverage mean?

  2. Tony Says:

It is particularly disturbing that the WV-Xavier Regional game will not receive Primary Coverage in the Providence, RI market given this is not only the Home of the Big East Conference, but, also, the home of WV player Joe Mazzula.

    This is not Acc country.

  3. PhilipVU94 Says:

    John,

I’m just speculating, but it appears that Swing means more committed to the game than “Primary” but less committed than “Constant”. If you look at the different areas marked as Swing that seems most likely. For example, Huntsville, AL, where I live is a moderately strong Tennessee market but gets Swing rather than Constant as Nashville or Knoxville would.

If someone can give a better definition, I’d appreciate it.

  4. Neill Says:

I would also like to know what the difference between Primary and swing is. Thanks.

  5. Joe Says:

Thede CBS schedulng clowns really don’t know their audience. The Portland station KOIN, which coveres SW Washington/Portland area broadcast the Xavier/Purdue to conclusion last week and didn’t cut to the Washington State/Notre Dame came until right before half-time, then proptly left it for the Stanford game when WSU got a significant lead. I would contact your local CBS affliate and complain. That is the only way these idiots are going to know.

  6. HDSportsGuide Says:

We confirmed with our CBS rep that John’s speculation is accurate. Primary coverage means that they will start with that game and focus on it, but will go to the other coverage if it becomes a more competitive match-up.

Constant coverage means that they are sticking with the designated game from beginning to end.

Swing coverage is somewhere inbetween, where they will be sticking with the designated game, but may cut away to the second game at critical times.

  7. Mike Says:

    Do you have Friday’s schedules?

  8. Nelson Says:

    Any maps for friday’s games?

  9. rob Says:

Will you be putting one up for friday the 28th?

  10. HDSportsGuide Says:

We expect to receive the coverage information for Friday later this evening/night!

  11. HDSportsGuide Says:

Okay, it is now 10PM ET/7PM PT. I think it is safe to assume we are not receiving the information from CBS tonight. Hopefully it will come through tomorrow…. stay tuned.

  12. BobE Says:

I checked my local station website. WKRC in Cincinnati will be showing Wisconsin and Michigan State games on Friday, with a notation that they are a “swing” station. Not surprising that they emphasize the Big Ten….though Villanova (my school) is in the Big East and we’re a Big East town (U of Cincinnati). I guess I’ll mostly be watching March Madness on Demand on the web.

  13. Randy Elcan Says:

Every sweet 16 game should be shown! This needs to be fixed.

  14. eric Says:

any word on the Friday Map coverage yet???

  15. Nelson Says:

If you go to zap2it.com, enter your zip code and select your cable/satellite provider, you can find your game.

  16. HDSportsGuide Says:

The Friday Sweet Sixteen Coverage Maps are now up.

  17. John Says:

Could someone tell me, in the states of North Carolina or Washington, if they cut away from UNC/WSU to show the last minute or so in regulation of the down-to-the-wire WVU/Xavier game, or they showed the UNC/WSU game in its entirety.

  18. Brian Says:

Will chicago get the Missou game?

  19. Martha Coop Says:

I thing it is a grand insult that we are playing for the final Four game and that one of your main commentators does not even have the courtesy to wear a tie as all the others do for this big event..
