2008 Wimbledon Semifinals and Finals Weekend

The Wimbledon Semifinals begin today and the Championship continues through the weekend with the Women’s Final on Saturday at 9:00 AM ET and Men’s Final on Sunday at 9:00 AM ET on NBC High Definition.

UPDATE: The alignment of the stars held up… Serena and Venus Williams face off for the Ladies Final on Saturday and Roger Federer will face Rafael Nadal on Sunday in the Men’s Final.

The Women’s bracket is aligning for an All-Williams Wimbledon Final on Saturday morning. Barring an upset in the semifinals on Friday, the Men’s Wimbledon Final will likely feature another match-up between Nadal and Federer.

On Thursday morning, the Women’s Semifinals start on ESPN2 (broadcast in upconverted wide-screen standard definition) with Elena Dementieva (No. 5) vs. Venus Williams (No. 7). Coverage shifts to NBC at 12:00 PM ET featuring Jie Zheng vs. Serena Williams (No. 6).

On July 4th, the Men’s Wimbledon Semifinal coverage will be exclusively on NBC starting at 9:00 AM ET, which means all of the tennis matches will be broadcast in true 1080i high definition. The matchups will feature Roger Federer (No. 1) vs. Marat Safin and Rafael Nadal (No. 2) vs. the winner of this morning’s Schuettler/Clement Quarterfinal match.

The Wimbledon Women’s Final will air Saturday, with coverage beginning at 9:00 AM ET, and the Men’s Final will air on Sunday.
