World Series Game 5 Delayed Until Wednesday
As the rainy conditions that caused Monday night’s suspension of Game 5 of the World Series continue, the MLB has announced that the game will not resume tonight, as originally planned, but tentatively will continue Wednesday at 8:37 PM.
The game is currently suspended at 2-2, going into the bottom of the sixth inning, and when play resumes the Phillies will be up to bat. Should the Phillies go on to beat the Rays, they will be named the World Series Champs for the first time since 1980.
Games 6 and 7–should they be needed–are scheduled to be played in Tampa Bay, but since Game 6 was scheduled for Wednesday, both games six and seven will be determined after Game 5 is completed.
Should Wednesday’s weather be inclement as well, the game will be scheduled for a later date.
