ABC/ESPN Coverage Map for November 14 3:30 Games
There are three games in the 3:30 PM Eastern ABC coverage map for November 14. The games are #10 Iowa at #11 Ohio State 67%, #14 Miami (Fla.) at North Carolina 17% and Nebraska at Kansas 16%. The Miami (Fla.) at North Carolina game will be in the reverse mirror, so will the Iowa Ohio State game.
Iowa takes on Ohio State in a de facto Big Ten championship game, as the winner of this game holds all the tie breakers if they were to slip up the following week. Ohio State continues to be the most overrated team in the country in the human polls. They are ranked ahead of one loss Iowa, Pittsburgh and ahead of USC a team that beat them. I guess that’s another argument for another day, but Ohio State’s resume should put them at around 12-15 range instead of being in the top 10.
Coming off their big rivalry win over Oklahoma, Nebraska now controls their destiny in the Big XII North. This is somewhat surprising after back to back losses to Texas Tech and Iowa State, but they have rebounded strong with wins against Baylor and Oklahoma. Kansas’ needle is pointing down and as the guys at the Solid Verbal predicted they are on a four game losing streak, and probably could lose these next three games which would leave them at 5-7 after a 5-0 start.
North Carolina takes on Miami in the final game in the 3:30 window. This is a surprising choice for me. Because the Georgia Tech Duke game has ACC championship implications while this games has only an exciting quarterback that has been known to shave “Swag U” in his head. North Carolina has had a disappointing year, but could continue playing the spoiler this week.

How can part of the state of Nebraska not be able to see their Game?
November 12th, 2009 at 9:38 am
That part of Nebraska is served by the Sioux City Iowa affiliate, which will obviously show the Iowa game.

“Ohio State continues to be the most overrated team in the country in the human polls. They are ranked ahead of one loss Iowa, Pittsburgh and ahead of USC a team that beat them.”
Wow, I don’t know where to start. I’ll pick USC. Your point seems to be that teams should be ranked below teams that have beat them. So by your logic both Ohio State and USC should be ranked below Purdue and Washington respectively, right? Oh, but you admitted that Ohio State should be in the top 15, so there goes that logic.
Pitt? Really? Quick, name all of the ranked teams that Pitt has played (let alone beat) so far this season. Do I hear crickets?
And Iowa? If Iowa is so much better than Ohio State, why is Vegas spotting them more than two touchdowns in their matchup this weekend?

Well let’s start with the USC argument: with each team having two losses and USC winning the head to head. I daresay the Trojans should be ranked ahead of the Buckeyes.
Pittsburgh: Only one loss and although their schedule has not been as tough. They had a win against USF who was ranked very similarly to Wisconsin (until they lost yesterday). A win over Penn State who has lost to the only two good teams they played all year does not scream big win to me.
Iowa: only one loss, have the same “Big wins” as Ohio State over Penn state and Wisconsin. Plus a win over an underrated Arizona team for sure should give them the nod over Ohio State.
And let’s not forget Oregon: Beat the two teams that OSU lost to (Purdue and USC). Their two losses are against currently #5 Boise State and #25 Stanford.
Because Ohio State has a big name we forget that they lost to Purdue who will probably not even be bowl eligible this year.
So there is my case based off resume that Ohio State is overrated.

Hey, I’ve got an idea. Let us know what when and where sports are going to air, and leave the editorializing to the professionals.

OSU didn’t lose to USC by much and it was early in the season.
I agree with Chris: Isn’t your job to deal with broadcast coverage? Your opinion really does;t mean much. I understand there is a huge national anti -Buckeye sentiment after those two national championship losses, but they WON in 2002 and seem to get there — or close–year after year.
My opinion is they’d beat Boise State, Cinci and TCU.
I’m guessing you don’t have a team that wins most of their games year after year.
Does your boss know you “rate” teams? (”Under- rated Arizona, Over-rated Ohio State”…how do you dream up this stuff?)
If your boss knows –and approves — you BOTH should be fired.

I was just looking at it based off the BCS computer rankings against the human polls. Ohio State is five spots higher in the human polls than the computer rankings. Arizona is 3 and 4 spots behind their computer ranking. That’s where I “dreamed” this stuff.
My opinion is that the rankings should be based upon resume. The way it is done now where a team moves down 8-9 spots when they lose, instead of being judged based upon their whole resume bothers me.
If Ohio State wins today they will deserve their spot in the Rose Bowl and everything that comes with this big win, but right now take a look at all the teams I have mentioned and their resume’s and make a case for Ohio State being ranked where they are.

Why is the Ohio State game blacked out on ESPN in Florida? This really pisses me off!!!
