Atlanta’s ABC: WSB Channel 2 is broadcasting the British Open in HD, very good coverage on ABCs part. Good HD Coverage!!!

coverage stinks too many mouths that dont know when to shut up, and too really hit bottom you bring in curtis strange with his irritating accent, which rock did he crawl from under? the only one who keeps coming across great is Judy Austin, Why is she not lead commentator, is it because she is female, the rest talk alot and say nik’s we need to see more golf and less stupid talk

To Paul Kitts:

I find it a great shame that you think the British Open offers up “unremarkable landscapes”. Golf is about much more than the artificial, overly landscaped courses that are so popular in the States. It is like they are designed to be garden centres. The beauty of the British Open and the Links courses on which it is played is that it is a battle with the elements and with the natural and often unforgiving undulations on the fairways that mean you cannot guarantee a good lie even if you hit it straight down the middle. Perhaps one day you should play the Old Course at St. Andrews – I bet you wouldn’t think it was an “unremarkable landscape” if you’d done that. Of course, if they were showing it in HD perhaps you’d be able to appreciate what makes the likes of St.Andrews and Turnberry so much more challenging and interesting than the relatively sedate and uninspired courses you have across the pond.

Where is cbs when u need it?!?! I will never watch golf on TNT again!!! Lame coverage, too many feel good stories and interviews. Ernie Johnson has no idea what he is talking about regarding golf. I guess that is why i dont watch NBA anymore. TNT is lame. And what is with the 300 commercials per hour!?!?!?! ABC seems to have continued that format too. Gag. I wont be watching too much more of this crap especially since Tiger is gone. Tom Watson just doesnt do anything for me.

Worst coverage of any golf…ever. Finally turned the sound down and as it was recorded ff theough most of it. Haven’t the producers ever watched golf before. Really really stinks!

I’m used to struggling to watch the B-Open. No trees and unremarkable landscape, however what I’m not used to is listening to Ernie and his elitist colleagues hammering away a John Daly’s outfits. The manufacturer is Loudmouth. Get it guys? It’s not for everyone, but he is clearly not the first one on the tour to wear some “statement making” outfits…..Jesper P?

It does not matter. The coverage really sucks. They spend most of the time talking to each other and forget there is a golf match going on. Really unwatchable.

Ha ridiculous! There’s only 4 majors each year and it’s not gonna be HD? One of the reasons I bought an HDTV was for the golf. I can watch the Buick Open in HD but not the British Open? Dumb dumb dumb.

WDHN (ch.18), ABC affiliate in Dothan, Alabama, has yet to broadcast ANYTHING in high-def, so this is little surprise. World’s Worst Television Station.
