NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs 2009 Second Round
The NHL Stanley Cup Conference Semifinals are about to get underway, and the NHL got what it wanted: Ovechkin vs. Crosby. The reseeding of the NHL produced one of the most anticipated team and player match-ups in recent history, much to the chagrin of fans in Boston and Carolina. Three games from that series as well as one game from the Chicago Vancouver series will be joined in progress and not shown in their entirety nationally.
Those games are not exclusive games for Versus, so they can be shown on the local channels. But out of market fans will be out of luck for those four games. So as of right now out of market fans of Boston and Carolina are going to be getting Red Wing and Ovechkin vs. Crosby overkill instead of their teams games. This page will be updated as soon as we get more information. Please leave a comment a source if you know more about the situation.
All games starting in the second round will be broadcast in high definition except including games on Fox Sports Carolina. Including at least two on NBC for those of you who still use bunny ears.
There will be local HD coverage of all the games except the NBC games and the list of Versus exclusive games.
**Here is a list of the Vs. Exclusive games. The rest can be broadcast on local channels. As soon as those plans are announced they will be posted here.

In previous years, there has always been local coverage in the second round of the playoffs for games that are not being broadcast nationally. I’m sure that will end up being the case this year as well.
