ABC/ESPN Coverage Map for October 3
ABC has two different sets of regional games this week. The usual 3:30PM game with the reverse mirror, and this week the 8:00PM game will also be a regional game. The 3:30 game has Florida State at Boston College with 32% (which is a surprising choice for gameday) Penn State at Illinois 49% and UCLA at Stanford with 19% . The 8:00 PM game is Oklahoma at Miami (Fla.) game which will go to 81% of the country and USC at California going to the rest of the country (19%) in that time slot.
This is the weakest set of afternoon games that ABC has had to date. With Florida State and Penn State both being upset last week and Illinois getting shut out by Ohio State last week, those games have lost a lot of their luster. Surprisingly, the best 3:30 game could be undefeated UCLA at Stanford who is undefeated in the Pac 10 and recently upset Washington (who I’m not sold on, but we’ll know more after they play Notre Dame this week).
The 8:00 ABC games should be very exciting despite last weekends results of Miami losing to VaTech and Cal getting blown out at Oregon. I bet ABC’s executives thought at the start of the year that this weekend could be a two match-ups between undefeated teams (although it would have been a stretch to say Miami would be undefeated at the start of the year). But upsets of Oklahoma (BYU), USC (Washington) and Cal (Oregon) have turned this weekend it to a must win for all four of these teams to dream of winning a national championship.
The reverse mirror will be on ESPN once again this week.

This writer who wrote this is a idiot, the reason that Gameday is in Boston College is for Cancer Research so instead of complaining, why not praise ESPN.

So that makes him an “idiot”? He provides this great service for free, and you label him an idiot because you are so high and mighty and you just happened to know that the gameday selection has something to do with cancer research.
Who is the idiot?
