ABC College Football Coverage Map for September 25
This week for ABC’s afternoon regional coverage there are three games. UCLA travels to Texas in their quest to finish behind Iowa State in the Big XII. Eastern Michigan visits Ohio State in a game that should be over before it begins and Wake Forest visits Florida State. The games in the reverse mirror on ESPN will be Eastern Michigan at Ohio State and UCLA at Texas.
I expectAs I predicted, the Eastern Michigan at Ohio State game to go to a very small portion of the midwest, with the rest of the country getting it in HD on ESPN. The UCLA at Texas game will probably take the rest of the country including the northeast on ABC, with the reverse mirror everywhere that the Eastern Michigan at Ohio State game is on ABC in standard definition on ESPN. The Wake Forest at Florida State game will probably be on only in the south on ABC HD and everywhere else on ESPN3. This prediction is based off previous maps from similar games. We will have to wait to see the maps when they come out though.

We on the Eastern Seaboard (including Northeast) want FSU/Wake, not Texas!

Map is up. It doesn’t mention a reverse mirror, but if there is it is definitely not on ESPN2 (there is a NASCAR event on). Most likely on ESPN.

I trust ESPN will stick with the mirror game regardless of its closeness. Because of the Big Ten Network, Ohio State is often not available to those of us in the west. I wish ABC had chosen the Illinois game the following week, but they didn’t. So show the whole game please.

So will we get to see TX/UCLA in SC?

I think this may be the only time ever I’m not upset about the Ohio State game not on ABC (Chicago). I still don’t understand why this game is on ABC?

@Chris, no.. you won’t get the UT/UCLA game if you are in SC as in South Carolina. but if you mean Southern California, then yes, you will get UT/UCLA.

Micky V….RIGHT ON! I live in NY and have 0 interest in Texas/UCLA. 1st off, UCLA sucks. It’s going to be a boring game. Secondly, here on the East Coast the ACC is the conference… chello!!!!
I could understand OSU, but Texas? freakn Texas? Get real ABC… I certainly won’t have any of my T.V.s tuned in.

What! No Florida State in Alabama? Come on ABC, lame.

I’m in Houston and want to see the OSU game. Does this mean it will be on ESPN? I never understand these maps!

yes go bucks

In Tennessee, we could care less about the Big 12. SEC or ACC is what we want to see. Would much prefer FSU-Wake game over TX-UCLA!

Could also care less about OSU-Eastern Michigan

Wake @ Florida St Wow, just how many blowout losses between the two. Nothing like two “B” teams going at it.
Eastern Michigan @ Ohio State That should be good for about two minutes.

Does anyone understand why viewers who are getting the OSU game on ABC can’t get the Texas/UCLA in HD on ESPN, while viewers who get either of the other games on ABC can watch OSU in HD on ESPN?

I don’t get why people have so much difficulty understanding these maps.
Each color in the first yellow/green/blue map corresponds to the game that will be on ABC for that area. The next three maps are broken down by game and show which channel the game will be on in which areas.
So those of you asking “Where is the Ohio State game?”, scroll to the second map. It’s on ESPN in the red area and ABC in the green area. Is that map so hard to read? It wouldn’t be, if you bothered to put in the two seconds of effort required to look at and understand the title and key.
By the way, there is also a small error on the first map. In the northeast corner of Ohio, there are three dots corresponding to three affiliates. The southwestern-most dot is labelled “WAKC Akron”. WAKC hasn’t been an ABC affiliate in fifteen years. A minor oversight, to be sure, but you would think ABC would know better.

@Jim – I don’t understand why this happens either. I am in Michigan, and last week I got the Notre Dame/MSU game on ABC and the Texas/TTU game was blacked out on my ESPN2HD and I had to watch it on the SD ESPNa channel on Directv. You just cannot watch football in SD anymore. This is so annoying.

@ Bob – Yeah I’m not sure how the hell people can’t decipher these maps… Kind of scary. Go Bucks!!!
