ABC College Football Map 11/6 3:30 PM

Four games in the 3:30 PM Eastern window: Washington at #1 Oregon, Northwestern at Penn State, #7 Nebraska at Iowa State and North Carolina at #24 Florida State. The Oregon Washington game and Northwestern at Penn St will be in the reverse mirror. In my mind these are four stinkers. Someone please make a case for me not tuning out whichever game is in my area to watch #3 TCU at #5 Utah (on CBS College Sports) or #6 Alabama at #10 LSU on CBS.

I envision Oregon winning by 75, Nebraska winning by at least 30, Florida State winning by 20 or more, and falling asleep during the Northwestern Penn State game.

Because there are four games, I expect each region to get the game in their region, with no real national game. Oregon Washington in the West; Northwestern and Penn State in Big Ten country; Nebraska at Iowa State in Big XII country and UNC at FSU in the south.

  1. Greg Says:

Do they put the maps up at a specific time every Wednesday, or do they just do it sometime in the afternoon?

  2. Luke Says:

Sometime in the afternoon, not really a set time.

  3. Greg Says:

    they must be Union

  4. Tom Says:

    Jesus, still not out yet?

  5. Tim Says:

How does it work to have 2 teams in the reverse mirror? does it mean that some parts of the country will get one game and some the other? or that one game is in ESPN2 HD and the other SD?

or is there a map coming out that explains that?

  6. bugeater Says:

So a third of the country has to watch NU @ PSU on ESPN2 instead of the #1 team in the country? Come on…

  7. College Football 2010: Week 10 - Everything you need to know about sports on television - the506.com Says:

[...] and ESPN coverage maps are available at HDSportsGuide.com: 3:30 PM ET, 8:00 PM [...]

  8. Scott Says:

I think anything involving the ACC is lightyears worse than Northwestern at Penn State.

  9. gregory Says:

Why don’t they put the Nebraska- Iowa State game on in Long Island? I would do this. Nebraska- Iowa State ABC North carolina- Florida State ESPN Northwestern- Penn State ESPN2 (as I have it) Washington- Oregon ESPN Gameplan (who cares)

  10. Mark Says:

Confused fan from Oregon. Visiting my daughter in Queens (area code 11104) on Saturday. Will I get to see my Ducks?

  11. keith Says:

Mark – your Ducks will be on ABC 7 out of NYC.

  12. Jamie Says:

Well this is just great. I am in Colorado (Big 12 country, at least for this year) and I won’t get to see my Huskers play on ABC, instead I get to see Oregon…why? That is so dumb

  13. Jay Says:

Why on earth is Central KY getting the Washington vs. Oregon game?? For goodness sake, Kentucky is in the South. Shouldnt we be getting the UNC/ FSU game?? This makes no sense to me. Who decides this stuff??????

  14. denver sunshine Says:

Looks like I’m headed to the bar for this one….

  15. Ted Says:

Im a Nebraska and Iowa State fan living in Arkansas. Arkansas is one State away from Iowa (Missouri). It is difficult to understand how this coverage is determined for the Nov. 6 broadcast. The Big 10 and Pac 10 Conference teams are of far less interest to Arkansans’ than the Big 12 Conference with Texas, Missouri, and Iowa being close by, especially when there is no SEC conference game being shown. No.7 Nebraska lost to Iowa State last year when they were favored to win by a double digit score and now they travel to Iowa State, which is a definite reason for a higher degree of interest.

Hopefully in the future the quality, interest and proximity would be better calculated.

  16. Mitch Says:

Are you kidding me? Colorado, a boardering state to Nebraska ( and a BIG XII state ) won’t get the Nebraska Iowa State game. Even a portion of Nebraska is excluded from this game. What a joke!

  17. Tom Beach Says:

This is the second time this year ABC has chosen not to televise the husker game in Arkansas. They instead put a Big 10 game on and now a Pac 10 game. I can assure you that the people in Arkansas could care less about the Oregon game. I don’t know who is in charge of programing at ABC but they obviously don’t have a clue, or are taking bribes from the highest bidder.

  18. Ben Says:

Why not include the Nebraska vs Iowa state game in the Colrado viewing area? Both Colorado and Nebraska are part of the Big 12 this year.

  19. Mark Says:

This is stupid. I’ve lodged complaints with the ABC affilitate in Denver and with ABC. Not that it’ll ever make any difference. Key Big 12 game and they won’t show it in a Big 12 state? So shortsighted. I guess it’s the Fowl Line or I’ll give ESPN3 a look.

  20. Tom Says:

Can anyone tell me the last time 2 Top 5 teams met this late and were not shown nationally ? CBS College Sports ? What the heck is that ?
This really shows what the TV folks think of TCU and Utah I guess….

  21. Jim Says:

I suspect CBS College Sports owns the rights to the Mountain West games. Why would they want to give up those rights on the biggest league game of the year? You don’t see ABC passing on their rights to the OSU/Michigan game.

As for Denver, you’re a Pac-10 (12) state now. Get used to it.

  22. Tom Says:

The only difference with that logic is that when ABC has a game of that magnitude it usually gets placed nationally and in prime time.
I doubt CBS college sports has the same number of subscribers. I know I do not get it…

  23. Sid the Squid Says:

Colorado is a Big 12 state and CU’s next two opponents are Nebraska and Iowa State. So of course ABC decides to not let us see the Big 12 game between Nebraska and Iowa State.

Someone in the ABC hierarchy must be a Ducks fan.

  24. Mark Says:

Any idea how the Big 10 Network broadcasts work?

  25. Ted Says:

I realize I must have been dreaming, but I just checked my program guide, hopefull of a change to the Nebraska/Iowa State game on either ABC or ESPN2. ABC must use this forum just to laugh at all of us who are disgusted with them. To bad they couldn’t use it as a means of addressing their audiences concerns.

  26. Ted Says:

I just checked again (10 minutes later) and still no change in the programming. I know that I can hear the laughter coming from their offices. (now even louder).

  27. Jeremy Says:

Northwestern and Penn State. Seriously,….. that will get watched. Does ABC hate money?
    -Eden Prairie, MN Husker fan

  28. Beth Says:

My question is why are they wasting precious football broadcast time to sow the Breeders cup? At least here in Ohio on ESPN the Breeders Cup is being shown on ESPN from 3:30 until 6:15. I know we boarder Ky, but I’d rather watch my Huskers kick some Iowa @$$.

  29. mkztg Says:

Seriously? I agree with bugeater.. I can’t believe that more of the country isn’t going to get to watch the #1 ranked team play. If it were an SEC team in #1 I know they would get national coverage. I am in OK and have to watch this streaming on espn3.com.. at least I have that option. This is CRAZY!

  30. Rob Says:

Jackasses…….why not try to give us coverage in Augusta Ga. Because of your satellite feed f-up, I can’t even get it on blacked out ESPN3.

  31. Todd Says:

If ABC in Denver does not show the Nebraska game for the second time in three weeks it will be a disgrace. The close proximity of Denver to Nebraska is ridiculous. Who care about a west coast game in this part of the country. Colorado has not left for the PAC 10 just yet! I sent an email to the station manager in Denver for ABC, no reply back of course! I have lived in the Denver area for 13 years and they have always shown the Nebraska game. Why change now? I understand next year to some degree, but come on ABC nobody cares about the PAC 10 right now. Please show the Texas A&M/Nebraska game this weekend.
