NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen Thursday Late Map
Here is the NCAA tournament sweet 16 coverage map for the first set of Thursday games. Thanks to everyone who helped out with creating this map by contributing to the google spreadsheet that we put up. We will post the maps for the Friday games tomorrow, so head on over to zap2it and update your zip code.
Our main question we were left with is the Cincinnati market. They are slated for the Xavier game according to zap2it.com, but since part they are also the CBS affiliate for part of northern Kentucky, they will probably work something out with a sister station to show both games.
**Update** It is confirmed that they will be showing both games in Cincinnati the primary WKRC will show Xavier with 12.2 showing Kentucky.
| Sweet 16 Thursday Evening Window 2 | |||
| Game | Announcers | Site | Color |
| #2 Kansas State vs. #6 Xavier | Gus Johnson/Len Elmore | SLC | Purple |
| #1Kentucky vs. #12 Cornell | Dick Enberg/Jay Bilas | Syracuse NY | Red |

I think you mean “Red” for “Blue” on this map…

That really sucks that your not showing the KY game in the Cleveland area. Quit penalizing KY fans. We are everywhere. Get used to it.

Yeah, it seems weird to me that they put the Xavier and Kentucky games on at the same time. Hopefully they do what WKRC is doing.

Calm down Franky boy. Why would they show the Kentucky game in Ohio when there is a team from Ohio playing? Just turn on MMOD for god sakes. Kentucky is going to get pounced by West VA anyway if they can get by Cornell.

You can always go to Buffalo Wild Wings and watch the game.

@matt and they’ll even send games into overtime if you want.

My 7 yr old nephew could see that this is idiotic. Why would you put Northern Kentucky in with Ohio and show Xavier. N.Ky has a huge UK alumni and fan base, and the game is not on. Plus if anyone at the NCAA or CBS had half of a brain, they would put Xavier and UK on at different times. It never ceases to amaze me how things like this happen. Good job CBS!

This map is wrong for the Paducah, KY area. KFVS-12 out of Cape Girardeau, MO is showing Kentucky vs. Cornell constant feed.

Thanks Josh, I updated the map.

For Cincinnati residents, what is 12.2 on WKRC?
I have time Warner digital cable and have all the HD channels, but I’m not sure what 12.2 means on WKRC?
So far, I only see the Xavier game listed on the channel with the KY game nowhere to be found. Help??!!

Again…CBS is not going to show the UK game in Dallas…KS State instead – to make the 3 KS State grads in TX happy!

@ other Matt I have a ghetto Motorola box that doesn’t pick up the .2 or .3 channels, to get them you might have to go around the box and just plug the coaxial cable right into the TV. Then just have your TV scan for all the channels on the cable. This worked for me when I needed to see the 5.2 channel (stupid telethon). It is lame because you won’t have the DVR functionality, but at least you can see the game.

Either the Xavier and Kent games had to be on at the same time, or Cornell and Syracuse. I dont think the upstate NY stations have the subchannels so they had to pick one and let Cincinnati use its sub channels to avoid the conflict.

See, even the map is pulling for Big Red

Frank, Are John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins serious about getting a college degree? Or they just there for basketball like Derek Rose? What will Calipari do if they eliminate one and done players? Will he actually have to recruit kids serious about earning a college degree? It is funny how UK fans changed their mind about Calipari. They bashed him as a cheater when he broke rules at UMass. Now they support his sleezy tactics?
