Notre Dame at Michigan St.; Texas at Texas Tech Regional Map
In the second game of split national coverage for ABC on September 18 (3:30 games here) Notre Dame travels to Michigan state and Texas travels to Texas Tech. Let’s review the most memorable games from each of these series over the last 5 years (Michigan State and Texas fans may want to just skip to the bottom).
In 2006 Michigan State had a 37 to 21 lead going in to the fourth quarter, then Brady Quinn led the Irish on two touchdown drives. Michigan State still had a chance to seal the game with the ball and just under five minutes on the clock, but their quarterback proceeded to throw a pick six and give the game away. Full highlights here (Also, what good highlight film from 2002-2006 wasn’t set to Lose Yourself from Eminem. I could see that “We We will be Victorious” song catching on for the short term, but not being a full four year fad.)
As for the Texas at Texas Tech memorable game, who can forget the 2008 game. This game featured the Mad Hatter in his prime, going against Texas and Colt McCoy at full strength. The game was great throughout, but the final play is what I remember (highlight here (Also, great call “CrabTREE Pulls FREE!”)).
Anyway, the maps will be posted Wednesday when available. Here is the link for the full college football HD schedule

Would be nice if we could see/maximize the ABC coverage map for Texas/Tech and ND/MSU…..

I live in NYC, are those maps telling me that Texas @ Tech will only be on ESPN 2 in SD here locally? Surely that can’t be true, and I’m just dumb, and it will be on ESPN 2 HD.

I live in Cleveland and most of us would rather watch Texas than either ND or Mich State. Help! Guess we are lucky to have ESPN2.

Why is the Texas/Texas Tech game brodcasted outside Texas and the southwest? Who outside that region gives a damn?

Taylor, I’m sorry, but apparently your team isn’t as important.

Why is college football showing so many games like Texas/Texas Tech in SD? Obviously they are showing the games in HD for some of the country, why in the heck not for ALL of the country? It is truly bizarre.

I know we should contact ABC about this not this site, but still – honestly, who gives a rat’s behind about that Texas game outside of TX? Notre Dame at least has a national fanbase. Who wants to watch that gawdawful Texas-Texas Tech matchup? Bleh. Go Irish!

Hmm, probably because Texas is ranked in the Top 5 and ND is unranked? Makes sense to me. Besides, you can watch ND in HD on ESPN2 so I don’t know why you’re complaining about it anyway. The ones I feel sorry for are those stuck with ND on ABC and have to settle for watching the better matchup (UT/TT) in SD.

You Irish fans are ridiculous complaining about other teams being on TV, seriously. Any fan of football who’s not an Irish fan would prefer watching the better teams.

A lot of people like to watch the Irish get humiliated by crap teams. That’s why they are on TV a lot.

I hate to break it to you, Taylor….but outside of the northeast (aka rustbelt), nobody cares about boring Big10 football.
TTU/UT 2008 was more fun to watch than any Big10 or ND game of that last century.

WTF is that Texas game doing across 2/3 of the country….noone outside TX gives a damn about those two.

In southern Connecticut we don’t get a Standard Definition ESPN2. Therefore we are currently stuck with Notre Dame/Mich. St. on ABC and ESPNNews on ESPN2. What a crock.
