PGA Tour: Northern Trust Open HD Schedule
The Northern Trust Open (formerly the Nissan Open and LA Open) has been played at famed Riviera Country Club every year since the 1973 except 1983 and 1998. In those years an alternate course was used to prepare Riviera for major championship play later in the year. The course is one of the toughest on tour not because of its length, instead because of the several dogleg holes and small greens. Phil Mickelson will again headline the field this week. Mickelson who won the tournament last year is coming off a Sunday finish at the Farmer’s Insurance Open which saw him never in contention after three early bogeys. Look for a winning score in the low double digits under par this week.
On the TV side, NBC Golf gets their first turn at golf coverage in the new year. Love him or hate him Johnny Miller will be the lead analyst for NBC Golf making the golf coverage a spectacle even if the golf is not. While huge ratings are not expected on Sunday, the tournament’s final round should end before kickoff making it a good alternative to the endless super bowl pregame coverage.

This Geniuses are not showing the golf tournament, they are showing the dang snow, I don’t care, I want to watch some good golf, and all you get is some talking heads talking about snow.
That is why we have cell phones and computer to check the weather, what and stupid thing to do.
