ESPN Shuffles CFB Lineup For Hurricane Gustav

Hurricane Gustav forced ESPN to shuffle their line up for Saturday.

The Appalachian State vs. LSU game, which has been moved from 5:00 PM ET to 11:00 AM ET, will be aired on ESPN Classic, where it will not be available in high definition. To fill the void, ESPN HD and ESPNU HD will now simulcast Delaware vs. Maryland, scheduled to begin at 3:45 PM ET.

8/30: ABC / ESPN College Football Coverage Map

The 2008-2009 College Football season starts Thursday and today ESPN is finalizing preparations for the weekend’s festivities. As with seasons past, ESPN is utilizing a “reverse mirror,” wherein they broadcast a different game on a different ESPN network, depending on the region. This changes the network on which a number of games will be aired, and in order to make sure we know where to find the games, ESPN emails us a detailed map of which games are on in regions around the US.

ESPNU HD Will Launch but to Limited Audience

ESPNU HD launches Thursday August 28th, just in time for the beginning of College Football season. The network will go live at 6:00 am EST and the first live ESPNU HD game will be Vanderbilt vs Miami (Ohio) at 7:30 that night, but not everyone will be able to see it.

College Football Schedule Roundup

The start to 2008 College Football is just a month away, and the College Football Schedules are starting to come into focus. ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN U, ABC, FSN, NBC, CBS and The Big Ten Network have all announced some games for the upcoming season.

Comcast to Carry Big Ten Network

The Big Ten Network has reached a long time agreement with Comcast Cable to start broadcasting Big Ten in select Comcast markets starting August 15th.

FSN Broadcasting 31 HD College Football Games

We have received confirmation from FSN that they will be carrying their entire 31 schedule of College Football games in high definition this year. Although some of the matchups may change, we have added the announced games to our College Football HD Schedule.

2008 HD College Football on ABC, ESPN/2 & ESPNU

Months after the announcement about the launch of ESPNU HD, we have added the first high definition 2008 college football games which will air on the network. In fact, we received confirmation from our contact at ESPN that ALL Live 2008 NCAA Football games scheduled for ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN U and ABC will be available in high definition.

CBS College Sports & ESPNU to offer HD Football

CBS College Sports, formerly known as CSTV, is currently available in high definition on DirecTV and should be available soon on other carriers. When you combine this with the launch of ESPN U HD in August, we can start dreaming about the number of weekly high def college football games we will have available this fall.
