ESPN Thursday Night College Football Schedule

The schedule has been announced for the 2009 Thursday night football schedule on ESPN. There will be some exciting games this year. Starting out with a Oregon at Boise State with early BCS implications. Other notable games include the Civil War and Texas vs Texas A&M on Thanksgiving.

FIFA Confederations Cup HD Coverage

ESPN will be covering the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup with every game in HD from the group play. This is the beginning of ESPN and ABC’s coverage of the men’s and women’s world cup in 2010 and 2014. They will be covering the FIFA Confederations Cup this year and in 2013. Here is the HD schedule for the group play.

ESPN Announces More June Baseball

ESPN has made some selections for their games that will be coming up in June. They have picked Yankees Red Sox for June 10 (big surprise). For June 15 it will be Brewers Indians and June 22 will have The Cardinals taking on the Mets. The Cleveland Milwaukee game will be a full national telecast the other games will be blocked out in normal blackout areas.

ESPN Sports Domination is a Good Thing for HD

You may have heard that ESPN recently outbid Fox by $100 million for the rights to carry the College Football BCS from 2011 through 2014. They are also apparently gearing up for a run at the Olympics in 2014 and 2016.

ESPN Shuffles CFB Lineup For Hurricane Gustav

Hurricane Gustav forced ESPN to shuffle their line up for Saturday.

The Appalachian State vs. LSU game, which has been moved from 5:00 PM ET to 11:00 AM ET, will be aired on ESPN Classic, where it will not be available in high definition. To fill the void, ESPN HD and ESPNU HD will now simulcast Delaware vs. Maryland, scheduled to begin at 3:45 PM ET.

2008 HD College Football on ABC, ESPN/2 & ESPNU

Months after the announcement about the launch of ESPNU HD, we have added the first high definition 2008 college football games which will air on the network. In fact, we received confirmation from our contact at ESPN that ALL Live 2008 NCAA Football games scheduled for ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN U and ABC will be available in high definition.

TBS and ESPN Sunday Baseball Schedule Updates

We recently received updates from ESPN and TBS with additional games added to their early June, Sunday baseball national coverage. For June 1st, ESPN has added the Dodgers at Mets and TBS added Florida at Philadelphia. On June 8th, ESPN will once again feature the Dodgers, who host the Cubs, but TBS has not yet released their pick that week.

U.S. Open in 2009 to air on ESPN2 / Tennis Ch.

Starting in 2009, the U.S. Open Tennis Championship will be shown on ESPN 2 and Tennis Channel, instead of USA Network. According to Multichannel News, a new deal is expected to be announced today, with ESPN2 airing 100 hours of live coverage and Tennis Channel airing 60 hours a year. The deal will go from 2009 through 2014.

AFL Monday Night Football to be “Live Wired”

In another attempt to convert NFL football fans to the Arena Football League, ESPN2 will present a special “Live Wired” version of the Monday Night AFL Game, with players coaches and a referee wired up for sound. The only thing left for ESPN to do is wire up some cheerleaders for sound and change the name of the league to the XAFL.
