Official Confirmation: CBS All-HD for NFL (Sort of)

After months of speculation, rumors and a lot of people with crossed fingers, CBS has finally spoken up and confirmed that they will be producing all games in high definition. However, it is possible that all CBS NFL games may not actually be seen in their entirety in high definition.

Confirmed all NFL on CBS in HD (thru Week 3…)

In a tale as sordid as Brett Favre’s return, the saga of CBS’s plans for a full NFL season HD schedule continues. Though we at HDSportsGuide have held out for as long as we could before reporting that CBS would be providing all 8 games every week in HD, a recent schedule from CBS may prevent us from holding out any longer.

Are you ready for some football?

The 2008 NFL preseason high definition coverage kicks off tonight with the NFL Hall of Fame Game on NBC Sunday Night Football. Then, “Hard Knocks” premiers Wednesday, August 6th at 10:00 PM ET. Unfortunately, still no word from CBS about whether they will be stepping up to full time coverage when the regular season starts.

Evidence that All CBS NFL Games May Be In HD

Those of you who have followed the saga of CBS’ HD NFL coverage may find this interesting. The DirecTV Sunday Ticket Schedule has an HD channel assigned to every game, even the weeks when CBS is broadcasting up to 8 games! This may be the first indication from an NFL partner that CBS will be producing all NFL games in HD this year.

CBS NFL High Def Coverage still up in the air

Ever since we found out that all NFL on FOX games will be available in high definition in 2008, we have been trying to get information about what CBS is planning. Well, we have gotten an answer, in the form of a non-answer.

NFL Draft HD Coverage on ESPN (sort of)

Since we received confirmation from the NFL Network that they will not be broadcasting the Draft in HD, we have been looking for information about ESPN HD’s plans. Well… it does not appear the coverage will be shot in HD, but (based on pre-draft coverage), at least they are making good use of the screen real estate.

2008 NFL Schedule is Released

The NFL has released the full schedule for the 2008 National Football Season. National TV high definition listings are available for NBC, ESPN, NFL Network and Fox. For the first time, Fox will be broadcasting all of its NFL games in high definition.

NFL Network Draft Coverage will NOT be in HD

The NFL Network has unleashed a schedule featuring more than 44 hours of draft coverage over the next two weeks, including the 73rd NFL Draft from Radio City Music Hall.
However, the draft will not be shot in high definition!?!?!?!?

NFL 2008 Schedule to be released Tues at 2 PM ET

Following the announcement of the 2008 Kickoff Weekend Primetime Schedule and the National NFL Preseason Schedule, the NFL 2008 Schedule will be unveiled tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM ET.

UPDATE: The schedule has been released on NFL.com. We are working on getting the confirmed high definition games into our Guide.
